Looking back, I cannot remember the reason behind making my first cake. I simply know that I continued baking because I found an unexpected challenge in trying to make my next creation better than my last. This mission of mine went reasonably well for my first two cakes, with the change from bundt cake pan to tube pan allowing for a smoother demoulding process. However, my third cake proved to be a step back when it came out as flat as three stacked pancakes. After some contemplation and research, however, my most recent attempt (seen to the right) is my proudest, with the height not quite reaching the rim of the pan but being visibly taller than those that came before it.
